We welcome you to the Rostock City Hall. The seat of the Rostock city administration since the 13th century and the home of the City Council, Mayor as well as the gathering place for the citizens. The “Pink House” depicts eventful history of the old Hanseatic and University City of Rostock and unites elements of Gothic and Baroque architectural styles with decorative forms of the Renaissance. However, the representative Rathaushalle still contains the remains of a 700-year-old building.
The ceremonial hall, which was called Kaisersaal or Fürstensaal earlier, was converted into the ceremonial hall in 1735. Today it shines festively with the baroque elements from the 18th century and hosts numerous ceremonial events.
The modernized Hall of the City Council is located next to the historical premises. This is where Rostock City Council meets every month. The venue is also used for public events.
