The 1st Innovation Festival Rostock originated from the idea to merge a German-American conference on start-ups, entrepreneurship and innovation in Rostock with the International MVprenuer Day around the topics of Blue Economy, Start-ups and Smart City.
The first event is a result of a need to intensify the transatlantic relations between Mecklenburg –Western Pomerania and the United States as well as to establish a German-American Institute in Rostock.
The latter, already successful MVprenuer Day, went international with a goal to further promote the lively start-up community in our region and to encourage the exchange with American partners.
The festival will gather entrepreneurs, innovators, scientists and sustainability professionals from Rostock and the region alongside top-class experts from the USA. The event is aimed at the audience who would like to learn more about business, smart solutions and innovation in the three core fields and particularly about cooperation opportunities with the USA.
The organizers are the City of Rostock and Digital Innovation Center Rostock with kind support from the US Consulate General in Hamburg.
